We just love this RTX DUALphone 3088, which is probably the best dual phone available on the market in this price range. The 3088 is a superbly designed cordless phone that gives you the flexibility of using both your existing landline and your broadband connection to make calls to anywhere in the world from your home or office. The RTX DUALphone 3088 can be used without the need of a computer.

The phone comes as a base station with a hands-free handset, which has a high-quality liquid crystal display (LCD). This can be used to view the status of your contacts so you can see at a glance if they are available to call. Set your Skype online status (Offline, Away, Do Not Disturb etc.). The phone can also be used as a high quality hands-free speakerphone.

To make a call to your contacts that are not on a computer you can either make a SkypeOut call buy purchasing SkypeOut credits or use as a normal PSTN phone. These credits are purchased from Skype and can be used to make extremely cheap calls. The call is free while on the broadband network. You only pay for the last part of the call, which goes through a telephone exchange, and then down a landline to the contacts home phone. You can view your Skype credits from the display.

The RTX DUALphone 3088 has a contact list/telephone book. This can store 200 contact names and numbers. You can also view Skype and ordinary call history (30 entries).

The phone comes with a charging unit and has a stand-by time of up to 100 hours and a talk time of around 10 hours. The range of the RTX cordless DUALphone is an impressive 300 meters from the base station with outdoor use, and around 50 meters indoors, giving you the flexibility to make and receive calls from anywhere in the home.
